I recall Tony very well from Leicester University. I spent time with him,especially during the first year ,when we took the same subjects,less so in later years when we took different subjects. We did occasionally meet at parties,etc., with Stan (Freeman) usually in attendance too!though,especially in the third year when we needed some time out from studying for finals!. I remember him very well as a really nice guy,quiet-ish but a great character too. He took his studies seriously but still enjoyed the social side of university -he had quite a number of friends!

The last time I saw Tony was in an Indian restaurant in Leicester,(we were there for a university reunion), with a group of others,including Ivan and Sue Waddington.  I think that,like me,he gained a great deal from university and from university life. I am so sorry to hear of his passing,and I send my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
